The magic of a good tune
Step 1 - Silence
It all begins with silence. A quiet environment in the tuning process is essential. We have a beautiful 11,000 sqft workshop where we have the space to be able to allocate a quiet area to tune cars in. We need the silence because we use an RTA (real-time analyser) machine to analyse the sound and measure the frequency spectrum of the audio signals being played. If there are external noises going on in the surrounding area then the analysis will be wrong and the foundation stage of the tuning process is flawed.
The RTA we use is capable of multiple resolutions up to 1/48th octave, and the graph can be viewed in either bar or line mode. We use specialist tools to create the optimum sound quality for you and your car.
Step 2 - Software
Audison bit Tune is a suite of electronic and acoustic test instruments used for the automatic calibration of Audison bit processors. This “single-chassis” solution offers a complete tuning process, improving the ease of installation and sound quality of car audio systems. The heart of this device is the CMU Central Measurement Unit, packaged with two microphone systems, various connections as well as PC based software used to manage and analyse the audio system.
We balance a car audio system by combing the best technology around with our vast experience of listening to amazing sound systems.
Step 3 - Moving Sound
Digital time alignment allows you to digitally delay the closest speakers so that every speaker reaches your ears at the same time. It's awesome. When set up properly, you can sit in the driver's seat, close your eyes (not while driving) and you will NOT be able to pinpoint where the music is coming from.
This is a massive part of tuning a car audio system to get the most from it. As you want the best car audio system for you car, we take the tuning part very seriously and that’s why you will see it mentioned in our audio packages.
